Hi! Did ya miss me?

Oh my goodness... did you think I gave up blogging? Nope! See what happened is I lost a week somewhere. It just flew out of the window. Seriously I was just sitting thinking (and sewing) this morning and thought it was just two days ago that Rachel posted the  finishing instructions for the pinwheel quilt along... but no, it was a week and two days ago and now I only have a few days to get my quilt finished... eeck. Meanwhile I was finally finishing my wonky log cabin quilt... from months ago. (See it up top?) and my X's, O's, and Tic-Tac-Toes quilt I started in January:

Then I had to do my new Jelly Roll Block for the JR Quilt Along:

I am so proud of myself the Wonky Log Cabin and Tic-Tac-Toe quilt tops are two things on my list for Spring to Finish. Just the Christmas quilt (blocks are done just needs sashing, quilting, and binding) and one quilt quilted on the frame with the Mid-Arm (I am a bit intimidated) and I will have done all I set out to do. I have decided the Wonky Log Cabin will be the first guinea pig for the frame. I can get it marked tomorrow and on Wednesday, when the hubby gets home from yet another business trip, I can get the machine on the frame and get started.... I am so excited you have no idea.

Quilt Along Blocks...

Seems like all I show lately is quilt along blocks... here are some from today...

For the Pinwheel Sampler today was pick your own day... I did two different blocks. The Hexagon Quilt Along was doing Kaleidoscope setting. I think my fabrics blend a little too much for this setting so I only did three of them.

First some Hexigons from the Hexagon Quilt Along

Weed Whacker (I don't know it's real name)

Jax (I think others call this See Saw)

Thanks for looking :)

A little bit of what I have been doing this week...

I made a decision at the beginning of the week that I was going to try to finish at least the tops of my UFOs ... they might have to wait to be quilted but I wanted them out of the working on box into the waiting box.

First I made a few more of these:

From Quilt Dad's quilt along a few months ago... I had made 7 blocks so I decided to make it an even 9 for setting purposes. Then I ordered the sashing fabric... have to wait a week for that :)

I did a few others that I don't have pics of and then I finished this top for the Lazy Gal Liberated Amish Quilt Along :

The challenge was to choose a quilt from the Amish Abstractions book or the Brown's Collections Photos and liberate it. We also had to add free pieced letters in Tonya style. There is a long story about how much I hated this quilt before I put the borders on but... I like it now.

A new block for the Jelly Roll Quilt Along:

I also started a whole new quilt from Rachel's tutorials for the Pinwheel Quilt Along for my MIL. I don't have pictures of that yet.

I started teaching a good friend of mine how to machine quilt on his home machine last night. It was fun to teach a teacher. He has been a public school teacher for more than 40 years. He has been quilting that long too... his wife likes to do construction :)

Thanks for stopping by... oops... I almost forgot... I need this:

Kate Spain has done it again!

....and my Pinwheel Sampler Blocks

Week 7 one more block tutorial to go...

Hexagon Quilt Along...

My frame showed up while my husband was on a business trip so we just started putting it together today. Almost done...

Right when I decided to take a break Julie posted the cutting instructions for the first blocks of the Hexagon Quilt Along. Very quickly, this:

turned into this:

I am really excited I think this quilt will be so much fun.
